Guru Vandanam function and Departure from Kalady

On the evening of June 4th, a Guru Vandanam function was organized at Kalady to commemorate and honour the Yatra of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji to Kalady on the occasion of the Centenary Celebrations. Sri K Muralidharan, former KPCC President and son of former Kerala CM Sri Karunakaran, offered a Mangala Patrika on behalf of all devotees his Pranams. Speaking on the occasion, he said that one’s faith in Dharma receives a boost when coming into contact with Mahatmas such as the Mahaswamiji. Sri A Subramonia Iyer, Manager, Sringeri Shankara Math, Kalady welcomed the gathering and expressed that it was a dream come true not just for the residents of Kalady but for all the followers of Sanatana Dharma that the Mahaswamiji had conducted the Centenary Celebrations. Sri P N Gopalakrishnan, Coordinator of the Mahaswamiji’s visit to Kerala, offered his Pranams and thanked the Kerala State and the Police force for the assistance provided during the Vijaya Yatrain the. For all his efforts to make the Celebrations a success, Administrator and CEO, Guruseva Dhurina Dr. V R Gowrishankar was felicitated on behalf of all devotees by Dr. B.S. Krishnan, Managing Trustee, Adi Sankara Trust. Sri Dileep Kumar, Advocate of Perumbavoor delivered the Vote of thanks.

In His Anugraha Bhashanam, the Mahaswamiji called for efforts aimed at spiritual benefit. The Mahaswamiji added that Kalady had to be parted with only because of duties to be fulfilled and expressed that He would like to return to Janmabhoomi Kshetram sooner than later. The Mahaswamiji expressed His immense satisfaction and joy at staying in Kalady and blessed the gathering. The Mahaswamiji started from Kalady the next day in the afternoon and returned to Sringeri on June 7th.
