Sannyasa Sweekara Day of Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam
January 21, 2026 (Maagha Shukla Triteeya of the Vishwaavasu Samvatsara) marked the Eleventh Anniversary of the Sannyasa Sweekara Day of Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam.
Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam had embraced Sannyasa from His Guru, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam, in a historic ceremony held in January 2015.
On January 21, 2026, at 9.30 a.m., Sri Sannidhanam offered Darshan at the Adhishthanams of His Paramaguru, Parameshti Guru, and Paraapara Guru. Thereafter, Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam proceeded to the northern banks of the river Tunga and had Darshan at all the temples within the Math’s premises.
Sri Sannidhanam then arrived at Ishwaragiri, the temple of Lord Malahanikareshwara, situated on the nearby hillock. At the temple, Sri Sannidhanam first performed Puja to Sri Ganapati, followed by worship of Lord Malahanikareshwara. Sri Sannidhanam then performed Rudra Abhisheka to Lord Malahanikareshwara.
The Pujas commenced at 10.30 a.m. and concluded at around 1.30 p.m. with Sri Sannidhanam performing Puja to Goddess Bhavani.

Uttarayana Punyakala
On January 15, 2026, marking the auspicious Uttarayana Punyakala, special Pujas were performed in all the temples of the Sringeri Math. During the Punyakala, the Jagadgurus undertook the Punyakala Snana in the river Tunga and had Darshan of Goddess Sharadamba and other deities, commencing from the Adhishtana Mandiras. The Poornahuti of the Surya Homa, on the occasion of Makara Sankranti, was performed in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam.

Andhakusura Vadha & Ardrotsava
Ardrotsava took place on January 03, 2026 with the Mahamangalarati to Lord Malahanikareshwara and Goddess Bhavani being performed early morning around 5:30 AM in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam. Earlier special Abhisheka was performed to the Malahanikareshwara Swami and Lord Nataraja, the Utsava Murthy. After the Maha-mangala-arati at the Malahanikareshwara temple, Ashtavadhana Seva took place. Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam then led the procession of the Utsava Murtis of Lord Malahanikareshwara (as Nataraja) and Goddess Bhavani (as Shivakami). The procession commenced with three circumambulations around the sanctum sanctorum, with each Pradakshina getting longer and descending down the hillock. The procession continued along the main streets of Sringeri and arrived at the Sringeri Town Municipal Office near the Sringeri Math premises. Puja to the Utsava Murtis was then performed.
After Mahamangalarati and Ashtavadhana Seva, the Utsava murtis were taken to the Pravachana Mandir amidst the chanting of Sri Shivanandalahari. On the previous night of January 02, Andhakasura Vadha was performed near the Rajagopuram in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam.
