60th Year of the Jagadguru – celebrations at Mumbai Sringeri Shankara Math


 

In continuation of the monthly celebrations on Mrigasheersha Nakshantram, the following Homas and Sangeetha Sevas will be performed in July and August 2010 at Sringeri Shankara Math, Mumbai –

July 2010

10.07.2010 (Saturday) 9.00 am – Dakshinamurthy Homam
11.07.2010 (Sunday) 6.00 pm – Carnatic Vocal Concert by Shri Karthik Srinivasan & Party

August 2010

06.08.2010 (Friday) 9.00 am – Durga Homam
08.08.2010 – (Sunday) 6.00 pm – Carnatic Vocal Concert by: Smt Rohini Mahesh
Violin – Anantharaman (Ravi)
Mrudangam – Aditya Rajagopalan

Homa Kanikkai – Rs.250/- for each homam.

Durga Puja

From the inception of the Math, Durga Pooja is performed on all Tuesdays and Fridays of Karkataka Masam in the math in the evening. Accordingly, Durga Pooja will be performed on Tuesdays and  Fridays, viz.  20th, 23rd, 27th and 30th of July, 3rd, 6th, 10th and 13th of August.  Maha Mangalarati will be performed on the aforementioned dates at  7.00.

Bhagavati Seva

Bhagavati Seva is also performed in Karkataka Masam and this year it will be performed on Sunday, 18th JULY 2010. The Bhagavati Seva Pooja will commence at 6.00 pm and Maha Mangalarati will beperformed at 9.00 pm

Deepa Puja by Suvasinis

Similarly Deepa Pooja is performed in Karaktaka Masam and accordingly, Deepa Pooja will be performed by Suvasinis on Friday the 30th of July 2010 at 5.00 PM. About 100 Suvasinis will perform Lalitha Sahasranama Archana on the Deepas. The Namavali will be recited by Dharmapracharakar Shri A.S.Gopalakrishnan and the suvasinis will repeat the Namavali and perform archana to the Deepas. Maha Deepradhana will be around 7.00 pm.
