Sharan-Navaratri Celebrations at Mumbai Sringeri Shankara Math


 

With the Benign Blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharathi Tirtha Mahaswamiiji Sharan Navarathri Mahotsava at Mumbai Sringeri Shankara Math was celebrated in a grand manner this year also. The Sharan Navarathri Mahotsava commenced with Maha abhishekam to Goddess Saradambal on Mahalaya Amavasya day on 7th October 2010 and culminated with Shakambari Alankara on the 18th.  Chandi Parayanam, Suvasini Pooja and Kanya pooja were performed daily.  In the evening Sangeeta seva was performed by various Artists from Mumbai and other places.  In the night Chandi Parayanam and Ashtanga Seva were performed. On the Maha Navami day i.e. Saturday, 16th October 2010, Chandi Homam was performed.  On Vijayadasami day  – 17th October 2010 Vidyarambham took place and a grand procession of Goddess Sharadamba took place in the evening through the main streets of Chembur. Large number of devotees daily visited to have darshan of Goddess Saradmbal  with different Silver Vahana alankara each day.  Sakhambari Alankara on 18th October 2010 attracted huge crowd.   Photos taken during Navaathri can be viewed below in the gallery.
