Navaratri Utsava Celebrations at Mumbai Sringeri Shankara Math


 

With the Benign Blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahaswamigal of Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, Sharan Navarathri Mahotsava was celebrated at Sri Sringeri Shankara Math at Mumbai in a grand manner.

The celebrations commenced with a grand Maha abhishekam to Goddess Sharadamba on 27th September 2011 and concluded with Shakambari Alankaram on 7th October 2011. Rathotsavam was performed on 6th October 2011 when Goddess Saradambal was decorated in a Silver Ratha and taken in procession through the main streets of Chembur.   Goddess Sharadamba was adorning with different silver vahana alankaras daily.   Chandi Parayanam, Suvasini/Kanya poojas were performed daily.  In the evening Sangeetha Seva was performed by leading artistes. Large number of devotees thronged the temple daily and  had darshan of Goddess Sharadamba. Annadanam was performed on all days during Navaratri.On the Vijayadasami day, vidyarambam was performed and over 60 children participated in it.  Also Vidyarambam was performed in Veda and Samskrita classes.  A new Sloka Class was commenced on the Vijayadasmi day to teach the Sloka and meaning of Lalitha Sahasranamam.
