To commemorate the completion of the birth Centenary of “Vyakarana Vageesha” Vidwan Peri Suryanarayana Shastri, a Vakyartha Sadas was organized in the premises of the Peetham from 28th November to 30th November 2011.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp at Pravachana Mandiram on the morning of the 28th. The Jagadguru spoke about the scholarship of the late scholar, his unique position among Vyakarana Scholars in the Mahaganapati Vakyartha Vidwat Sadas at Sringeri, and his devotion to the Acharyas of Sringeri.

Many scholars in Vyakarana, including some of the prominent disciples of the Vidwan took part. At the request of the scholars led by Vidwan Vishwanatha Gopala Krishna Shastri, the Jagadguru Himself inaugurated the Vakyartha Sadas by rendering a Vakyartha in Tarka Shastra under the topic “Satpratipaksha”. In the afternoon, the Jagadguru graced the Sadas and scholars debated over topics in Vyakarana in the Jagadguru’s divine presence. The Shastra deliberation sessions continued over the next two days and the programme concluded with felicitation of the scholars by Sri Subbaraya, son of the late Vidwan Peri Suryanarayana Shastri.
