Aradhanas of Paramacharya and Parameshti Acharya


 

The 25th Aradhana of Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji, the 35th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham at Sringeri, was observed with devotion at Sringeri for 3 days from 14th September to 16th September 2014.

The entire Adhishthanam complex at Narasimhavanam was beautifully decorated with flowers. On all three days, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji offered special Aradhana Puja at His Guru’s Adhisthanam at noon. On the main Aradhana day, Bhadrapada Krishna Saptami – 15th September, the Jagadguru performed the Aradhana Puja and later distributed Gandha (Chandana) Prasada to the devotees. The following day, the Jagadguru performed the Puja at noon and distributed Tirtha Prasada to the assembled devotees at around 3 pm. The Jagadguru also offered worship to His Guru after the daily Chandramoulishwara Puja at night on all three days. The night Puja included Rudra Krama Archana followed by Ashtavadana Seva. At the end, Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Aksharamala stotra composed by the Jagadguru on His Guru was chanted by the Pandits of the Sringeri Math.

Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji offered special Aradhana Puja at the Adhishthanam of His Paramaguru, the renowned Jivanmukta Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji (the 34th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Peetham) on the Mahalaya Amavasya (24th September), marking the 60th Aradhana day. It was on the same day in the year 1954 (Jaya Samvatsara Mahalaya Amavasya) that the 34th Jagadguru had shed His mortal coil and attained Mahasamadhi. The Mahaswamiji also performed a special Puja with Rudrakrama Archana at night. At the end, the Chandrashekhara Bharati Navaratna Malika composed by the Mahaswamiji was chanted by the Pandits of the Math. Many hundreds of devotees witnessed the Pujas.

Both the Aradhanas were observed at various branches of the Peetham in worshipful remembrance of the Acharyas. It is the experience of every sincere devotee who comes to the Adhishthanam of these Jagadgurus that They still grace and guide them in their spiritual path and propagate Dharma through the present Jagadguru of the Peetham.
