Inauguration of Vishwakarma Samudaya Bhavana

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam inaugurated “Sri Vishwakarma Samudaya Bhavana”. Acceding to the invitation of the members of Vishwakarma Seva Samiti, in Sringeri, Sri Mahasannidhanam graced the opening ceremony on Feb 11, 2015 with His Uttaradhikari Shishya Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam. The president of the Samiti, Sri Narayana Achari gave a traditional welcome to Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam. The Jagadgurus then graced the Poornahuti of Sri Mahaganapati Homa. Thereafter, Sri Mahasannidhanam inaugurated the Bhavanam. The Jagadgurus then climbed the decorated stage and lit the traditional lamp. In the Anugraha Bhashanam, Sri Mahasannidhanam mentioned that everyone should have a motivation to help the society. If the society flourishes then all the members of the society will get benefitted. Only then will an individual of the society grow. Every one is competent in one way or the other. It is a mistake for one to think I am completely incompetent or incapable. There is no individual in the world who does not have any talent. If one realises this fact and utilises his talent, it will be good for him as well as for the society. So everyone has to give importance for one’s own growth and that of the society.

The Jagadguru then praised the Vishwakarma community for its continued service to society. The construction of every temple or house cannot be complete without the contribution of the members of the community. The Jagadguru also spoke about the lineage of the community in which God has been worshipped in the form of Sri Vishwakarma, the divine architect. The Jagadguru highlighted this by referring to a work of Sri Udayanacharya, who lived a millennium ago and was a great scholar in Tarka (logic). Sri Udayanacharya wrote a text to establish the existence of God by the system of logic. At the beginning of the text, he says that every person in the world worships God in some form or the other. While describing this, he writes – कारवोऽपि यं विश्वकर्मेत्युपासते, तस्य समस्त जगद्विधायकस्य भगवतः अस्तित्वे किम् वाच्यम् । – “There need be no doubt about the existence of the God, the creator of the worlds, who is worshipped by architects (कारुः in Sanskrit) in the form of Vishwakarma. The Jagadguru stated that the members of the community in the present-day trace their origins to such a lineage where God is worshipped in the form of Vishwakarma. So it is the duty of the present-day members to preserve the tradition. It is ever true that without God’s grace our efforts cannot fructify. So we have to remember God at all times and in all states, and be a recipient of His grace.

The Jagadguru then mentioned that the Vishwakarma community has been associated with the Sringeri Jagadguru Mahasamsthanam for ages. The community members have been executing the orders of Sri Sringeri Jagadguru with utmost sincerity and have been receiving the grace of the Jagadguru. The Jagadguru had words of appreciation for the sincerity and devotion of the members and expressed happiness in the construction of the Bhavanam. Then the members of Vishwakarma Seva Samiti performed Phala Pushpa Samarpanam and Bhikshavandanam and obtained Phala Mantrakshata from the Jagadguru. The organisers also felicitated Dr. V R Gowrishankar, CEO & Administrator of Sringeri Math for timely assistance on behalf of the Jagadguru Mahasamsthanam, during the construction activity.
