130th Varshikotsava of the Sri Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala


The 130th Varshikotsava of the Sri Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala at Sringeri was celebrated on Krodhi Samvatsara Shravana Shukla Shashthi (August 10, 2024). Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam graced the event which began with a Sabha organised at Guru Nivas. The Sabha began with Guru Vandanam, Vedic chantings and a prayer. Vidwan M Vinayaka Udupa, the Principal of the Pathashala, along with teachers and students performed Phala-Pushpa-Samarpanam to the Jagadguru. The Principal presented the annual report of the Pathashala. An Abhinandana Patra in praise of Sri Meenakshi Sundara Ghanapaathi, who recently retired after having served the Pathashala as the Krishna Yajurveda Adhyapaka for more than four decades was read and submitted to the scholar by the Adhyapakas of the Pathashala. Sringeri Math CEO Guru Seva Nirata Sri PA Murali felicitated Sri Meenakshi Sundara Ghanapathi in the divine presence of Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam.

CEO Sri PA Murali distributed prizes to the students who took part in various competitions held by the Pathashala. Students who won the Sanskrit and Kannada oratorical competitions spoke in front of the Jagadguru and received blessings. Various endowments established by devotees were awarded to the senior faculty and students of the Pathashala.

Sri Sannidhanam then released the 19th edition of “Sadvidya”, the annual souvenir of the Pathashala containing articles in Sanskrit and Kannada penned by scholars, students and alumni of the Pathashala. Sri Sannidhanam also released a book titled “Dasharatha Nandana Charitam” penned in Sanskrit verses by the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore, Sri Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar in the 19th century.

Sri Sannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam highlighted the importance of the study of the Vedas and Shastras in accordance with Sampradaya and blessed the gathering.130th Varshikotsava of the Sri Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala
