🌟 Embark on a Divine Journey with Us! 🌟

All aastikas are invited to join a sacred journey of spirituality and enlightenment at Punyabhumi Sringeri, where devotion, wisdom, and divine blessings come together in a truly special experience.

It is well known that Jagadguru Sri Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya, the incarnation of Lord Paramashiva, took birth at Kalady in Kerala twelve centuries ago, rejuvenated Sanatana Dharma, propagated the Upanishadic philosophy of Advaita by touring across Bharatavarsha and established four Amnaya Peethams in the four directions of the country for the sustained propagation of Dharma.

The foremost among the four Peethams, the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham established at Sringeri on the banks of the Tungabhadra has been adorned by an unbroken succession of illustrious Jagadgurus commencing from Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada’s prime disciple, Sri Sureshwaracharya. Goddess Sri Sharadamba, the divinity of knowledge, shines in full splendour here as the presiding deity, showering Her all-bestowing grace on devotees. Amongst the festivals celebrated at Sringeri, the Sharannavaratri Mahotsava of Goddess Sharadamba is the most important and grandest.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam will be celebrating the Mahotsava of this Krodhi Samvatsara from Ashwayuja Shukla Pratipat 03.10.2024 to Ekadashi 13.10.2024 at Sringeri.

For the benefit of all mankind, the Ubhaya Jagadgurus will perform special Puja to Goddess Sharadamba every day at noon throughout the nine days of the Sharannavaratri Mahotsava. It’s a unique opportunity to witness and participate in this divine ritual that transcends time and space, imparting blessings and goodwill to all.

We are thrilled to extend to you a heartfelt invitation to partake in this magnificent festival, celebrated with great zeal and devotion.

Jagadguru Vidyaranya

Since the era of the illustrious Jagadguru Vidyaranya, who ascended the Sharada Peetham as the 12th Jagadguru Shankaracharya, and played a pivotal role in the establishment of the glorious Vijayanagara empire. Since then, the Sringeri Jagadguru has been addressed with the title “Karnataka-Simhasana-Pratishtapanacharya”.

In response to the earnest requests of the Vijayanagara emperor, the Jagadguru graciously consented to grace the sacred Navaratri festival, adorning royal attire. This tradition, unique to Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, continues to this day, as the Jagadguru assumes the role of a royal sovereign during the night darbar ceremony held at the Sri Sharadamba temple.
