Work on the Rajagopuram at the main entrance of the Peetham began in February 2008 with the foundation stone laying ceremony by the Jagadguru. With the foundation completed, a Shilanyasa ceremony was held on December 12th marking the day structure of the Rajagopuram begins to take shape. The Jagadguru performed a Puja for the successful completion of the tower that would stand 127 feet tall and welcome devotees to the abode of Goddess Sharada and the throne of transcendental wisdom, the Sharada Peetham at Sringeri.
