Jayanti and Aradhana of Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Nrisimha Bharati Mahaswamiji

On Mar 22nd, the Jayanti of the 33rd Acharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Nrisimha Bharati Mahaswamiji was observed. Mahamangalarati was performed at noon at the Mahaswamiji’s Samadhi shrine in Narasimha Vanam, in the presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji. The Jagadguru Himself performed a special Puja at night. In the morning, ardent devotee and elderly scholar, Dr. N.S.Dakshinamurty delivered a lecture in front of the Samadhi shrine recounting the life and teachings of the Mahaswamiji. Explaining the meaning of the Shloka on the Mahaswamiji in the Guru Parampara Stotram, he said that the Mahaswamiji was a treasure-house of knowledge, an expert in Mantra Shastra, and was an exemplary Sannyasi. He also recounted in simple Kannada the thought expressed by the Mahaswamiji in His short Sanskrit work, “Purushaartha Nirnaya”, that examines the four Purushaarthas (human pursuits) of Dharma, Artha, Kama and Mosha, and conveys how and why the ultimate objective of emancipation is important in life of a human being. The assembly was organised by the Sri Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala, founded by the Mahaswamiji. Students and teachers of the Pathashala attended the function.
