at the beginning of Ardrotsava

Ardrotsava took place on January 1st 2010 with the Mahamangalarati to Lord Malahanikareshwara and Goddess Bhavani being performed early morning in the Jagadguru’s divine presence. The previous day being the Chandragrahana, the devotees though observing grahana anushtana till 2AM in the night, were promptly present for the Mahamangalaarti and the grand procession at 5:30AM in the morning without bothering the chill weather. A procession of the Utsava Murtis Lord Nataraja and Goddes Bhavani then took place in the divine prescence of the Jagadguru. The procession included three circumambulations of the hillock and continued along the main streets of Sringeri till the municipality building. The function concluded with the Ashtavadhana seva and the utsava murtis were taken back to the Malahanikareshwara temple amidst the chantings of Shivanandalahari, the custom followed since ages.
