Mumbai Shankara Jayanti Celebrations

With the benging blessings of Acharyal Sri Sankara Jayanthi will be celebrated at Mumbai from 14th May 2010 to 18th May 2010. Daily Mahanyasa Poorvaka Sada Rudrabhishekam will be performed for the main deity Adi Shankara and Utsava moorthy. Parayanam of various Prakarana-Granthas of Sri Adi Sankara Bhavadpadacharya will be performed by learned pandits.

On the 18th May 2010, special japa and abhishekam will be performed for the deities. In the evening a grand procession of Sri Ado Shankara Bhagavadpadal Utsava Moorthy in a s Silver Chariot will be taken out through the main streets of Chembur.

Dharmapracharaka Shri A.S. Gopalakrishnan will lecture on Adi Shankaracharya’s Bhaja Govindam in Tamil, in the evening from 14th to 17th May 2010.

Dharma Upanayanam will be perfomred for deserving children on Akshaya Tritiyaa day; Sunday the 16th of May 2010.

19th Pratishtha Day Celebrations

The 19th Prathista Day of the Mumbai Sringeri Shankara Math will be celebrated on Wednesday, the 19th of May 2010 at the Chembur Math. The function will commence with Maha Ganapathi homam. Mahanyasaka Purvaka Eka Vara Rudra Abhishekam will be performed for all the 3 deities i.e. Sri Maha Ganapathy, Goddess Saradambal and Sri Adi Shankara. Goddess Saradambal will be decorated with with Diamond Kiritam (Crown) and Golden Kasumalai (Coin Garland) and various other Abharanas (Ornamenta) on this day.

There will be a grand procession of Goddess Saradambal Utsava moorthy in a Silver Chariot through the main streets of Chembur.

All are requested participate in the celebrations and receive the blessings of Maha Ganapati, Goddess Saradamba, Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavadpadal and the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji.
