The twelfth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Kartika is well known as Ksheerabdi Dwadashi. This year, On 18th November 2010, Ksheerabdhi Dwadashi was celebrated with the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji performing a special Puja to Lord Lakshminarasimha in Narasimhapura Agraha in Sringeri. Dhatri Homa and Tulasi Kalyanam were also performed at the temple earlier. The same evening, Deepotsava was celebrated at the shrine of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami as well as the shrine of Tulasi facing the temple of Sri Janardana Swami near Sri Vidyashankara Temple.
