Ardrotsava took place on December 22nd 2010 with the Mahamangalarati to Lord Malahanikareshwara and Goddess Bhavani being performed early morning in the Jagadguru’s divine presence. Devotees were present for the Mahamangalaarti and the grand procession at around 5 AM on the chill December morning. A procession of the Utsava Murtis Lord Nataraja and Goddes Bhavani then took place. The procession included three circumambulations of the hillock and continued along the main streets of Sringeri till the municipality building. The function concluded with the Ashtavadhana seva and the utsava murtis were taken back to the Malahanikareshwara temple amidst the chantings of Shivanandalahari. The previous night, Andhakasura Vadha was celebrated in front of the Pravachana Mandiram.
