Shaankara Tattva Prasaara Abhiyaanam at Mysore

Under the direction of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, the Peetham has launched a programme called the Shaankara Tattva Prasaara Abhiyaanam in November 2009. The programme focuses on developing Pravachanakaras to spread the tenets of Sanatana Dharma and Advaita Vedanta with emphasis on the life and works of Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada.

As part of the Abhiyaanam, a first level programme, similar to the ones conducted in Sringeri, Kollur and Bangalore, was held on December 25 and 26, 2010 in the Sringeri Shankara Math premises in Mysore. Sri Ramdas, MLA, Mysore participated in the inauguration function and spoke about the greatness of Sri Adi Shankaracharya and his unique place of importance in Indian history. Scholars from all around Karnataka addressed the participants and explained various aspects related to Sanatana Dharma and Advaita Vedanta. Detailed lectures on the life of Sri Adi Shankaracharya from the Madhaviya Shankara Digvijaya was delivered. Program co-ordinator, Prof. Shikarupura Krishnamurti and Dharmadhikari of Sri Sringeri Shankara Math, Sri H Ramachandra ensured the successful conduct of the programme. About 75 participants benefitted from the programme.
