The Mandalabhishekam and Homam of the newly  consecrated temple of Sri Adishankaracharya Bhagavatpada was performed today, the 4th of April 2010 on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Shuddha Pratipad of Khara Samvatsara.

Occurring on the forty-eighth day after consecration of the murti in the temple, today was also the auspicious day of Yugadi of the Chandramana calendar, the first day of the Khara Samvatsara. Tattvakala-homa was performed in accordance with the scriptures by the Math purohitas and Purnahuti of the Homam was graced by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji at 11:30 AM. After purnahuti, the Jagadguru worshipped Sri Adi Shankaracharya Bhagavatpada and performed the Mandalabhishekam to the murti accompanied by the sonorous chanting of Vedic mantras by the Math Purohitas and Pandits.
