Jagadguru performs Kartika Somavara Puja

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji performed Kartika Somavara Puja on October 31st, November 7th, 14th and 21st 2011 with an elaborate worship of Sri Chandramoulishwara Sphatika Linga in the afternoon.

On 7th November, Ksheerabdhi Dwadashi was celebrated with a special Puja to Lord Lakshminarasimha in Narasimhapura Agraha in Sringeri. Dhatri Homa and Tulasi Kalyanam were also performed at the temple. The same evening, the Jagadguru visited the Agrahara and Deepotsava was celebrated at the shrine of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami. Earlier, the Jagadguru also graced deepotsavas also took place in the temples of Sri Vidyaranya in Vidyaranyapura and Sri Venkateshwara in Narasimhapura. Residents of Shanti Niketan, a home for elderly citizens in Narasimhapura, were also blessed by the Jagadguru. Later that night, Deepotsava took place around the shrine of Tulasi facing the temple of Sri Janardana Swami near Sri Vidyashankara Temple.
