Annadanam seva at ThiruKaruKavur and KaruValarCheri

Annadanam seva was performed by Pune Sringeri Shankara Math at Sri Garbha Rakshambika Kshetra at Thiru-Karu-Kavur and Shri Akhilandeshwari temple at Karu-Valar-Cheri. Both the temples are in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu.

Divine Mother, Shri GarbhaRakshambika blesses devotees for marriage, conception and thereafter safe and easy delivery. Ishwara Shri Madhavi Vaneshwar is Swayambhu. There is no abhishekam for the Shivalingam. Only “punugu” is applied.

Shri Akhilandeshwari at karuvalarcheri is also swayambhu. The idol below the neck is made of earth and considered to represent the uterus of the cosmos. She nurtures the foetus during pregnancy. Here, the abhishekam is for the Ishwara and “punugu” is applied for the Divine Mother.

With the Grace of the Jagadguru, annadhanam Seva was conducted by the Pune math at both these temples during the month of Kartika.
