Dialysis Centre opened in Sringeri Hospital


 

On 13th February 2014, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji graced Sharada Dhanvantri Charitable Hospital for the opening ceremony of Sri Bharati Tirtha Dialysis centre. Speaking on the occasion, the CEO & Administrator of Sri Sringeri Math, Dr. V R Gowrishankar mentioned that in the last couple of years, about a crore rupees had been spent for the renovation of the hospital.

When the the hospital was commissioned in 1979, there had been two dialysis units, but there were no patients needing those units. Today for the benefit of the people of Sringeri taluk, the Dialysis centre was being inaugurated. In His Anugraha Bhashanam, the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji delved on how the hospital had come to its present shape. The Jagadguru said that it was the intention to commission something memorable and beneficial to the society during the Silver Jubilee Year of the Peethadhipatya of His Guru, Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam, Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidya Tirtha Mahaswamiji. That is when Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam had opened this Charitable Hospital for the welfare of the Sringeri citizens. Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam had also strove hard to ensure that the best facilities were made available at that time and the hospital’s standard was improved. The Jagadguru mentioned that the existing building for the hospital had been sponsored by Danachintamani D K Adikeshavulu in 1994 and and was inagurated in 1995. In the later years, under the leadership of Dr. V.R.Gowrishankar and by the magnanimous donation of donors, the Hospital has developed significantly. The Jagadguru blessed the activities of the hospital and one and all assembled there.
