Jagadguru’s Vijaya Yatra in North Karnataka – Honnali

Following the footsteps of Jagadguru Sri Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya and the great Gurus of the unbroken Guruparampara, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji undertook a quick and detailed Vijaya Yatra in the places of North Karnataka with the purpose of dispelling doubts, restoring faith and propagating the Upanishadic philosophy of Advaita (non-dualism) through His sparkling spiritual discourses. The Jagadguru undertook the hectic 16 day journey in the peak of a harsh summer in the cities and villages of North Karnataka to spread Sanatana Vaidika Dharma among the masses. The highlights of the Yatra include Kumbhabhishekas of newly constructed temples, foundation stone laying ceremonies, launching of Pravachana malika – a garland of discourses – under the umbrella of the Peetham’s Shaankara Tattvaprasaara Abhiyanam, special Pujas in Divya Kshetrams and benedictory discourses every single day of the 16-day Yatra.

Special pujas in the famous Kshetras of North Karnataka.

In addition to the daily Chandramoulishwara Puja and Pujas as part of the Kumbhabhishekas, the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji also performed special Pujas in famous Kshetras during this Yatra.

Honnali

Starting from Sringeri by 3’o clock on the evening of 12th March 2014, the Jagadguru arrived at Honnali of Davangere district at 6:20 pm. Accepting the reverential procession arranged by the devotees, the Jagadguru blessed them with an Anugraha Bhashanam stressing the importance of Bhagavad Gita and if we follow at least one instruction of Lord Krishna we can live a better life. After the Anugraha Bhashanam, the womenfolk amongst the devotees sung the compositions of the Jagadguru as well as a few Kannada songs signifying the Advaita Tattva. The Jagadguru blessed the devotees of Honnali with Mantrakshata and Tirtha Prasada on the following morning and departed from there in the evening.
