Jagadguru graces Bijapur, North Karnataka


 

The Jagadguru reached Bijapur in the evening of 16th March 2014 and was given a devotional welcome and was taken in a procession to the newly built Sringeri Shankara Math at Bijapur. The procession lasted for an hour and was filled with varieties of bands, Bhajans, Veda  & Stotra chanting. Children dressed up as Sri Adi Shankara and Sri Sharadamba. In the Swagata sabha held, the Jagadguru mentioned that we have to remain grateful to Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankarabhagavatpada for the great work He has done to the mankind in just 32 years. The next day Kumbhabhisheka was performed by the Jagadguru. The Jagadguru gave an Anugrahabhashanam in the evening Guruvandana sabha. After giving Darshan to all the devotees on 18th Mar 2014 morning and blessing them with Phala Mantrakshata and Tirtha Prasada, the Jagadguru departed from Bijapur in the evening.


Performing an elaborate Puja and Kumbhabhisheka to Sri Ganapati, Sri Sharadamba, Sri Adi Shankaracharya at Sringeri Shankara Math branch – Bijapur

Kumbhabhisheka:

The Kumbhabhisheka at the newly constructed Sringeri Shankara Math branch at Bijapur took place on the morning of 17th Mar 2014. The Jagadguru Mahaswamiji opened a newly built community hall and performed an elaborate Puja and Kumbhabhisheka to Sri Ganapati, Sri Sharadamba, Sri Adi Shankaracharya and Sri Chandramoulishwara amidst the chanting of Veda Mantras by the pandits of Sringeri Sharada Peetham. Then, the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji performed PranaH Pratishtha of the deities. Hundreds of assembled devotees, led by the Peetham’s CEO & Administrator of the Sringeri Math Gurusevadhurina Dr. V R Gowrishankar were blessed to see the Kumbhabhisheka performed by the Lotus Hands of the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji. Previously, the Ritwiks from Sringeri Sharada Peetham headed by Sri Sitarama Sharma reached the place a couple of days before and performed the religious ceremonies that are a precursor to the Kumbhabhisheka.
In the evening, a Guruvandana sabha was organised by the disciples of the Peetham. The devotees had prayed to the Jagadguru to launch the Pravachana Malika programme with His Anugraha Bhashanam as the first one. The Jagadguru blessed one and all with a detailed Anugraha Bhashanam highlighting the greatness of Jagadguru Sri Shankara Bhagavatpada and talked on His work Prashnottara Ratna Malika.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji inaugurated the Pravachana Malika programme (an initiation of Shaankara Tattvaprasara Abhiyanam of the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham) with His splendid Anugraha Bhashanam as the first Pravachanam in Sringeri Shankara Math Branch at Bijapur on 17-Mar-2014. This programme will have a Pravachanam on the fourth Sunday of every month.
