Samskrita Sambhashana workshop at Sringeri Pathashala

A workshop on spoken Samskritam was conducted at Sri Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samkrita Mahapathashala. More than 80 students from the Pathashala had participated in the workshop. In the Validictory function held on 4th August 2014, the Principal of the Pathashala Vidwan M A Nagaraja Bhat mentioned शक्तिग्रहकारणेषु प्रधानभूतं कारणं व्यवहार एव । अतः संस्कृतछात्रैः प्रतिदिनं संस्कृतभाषया व्यवहर्तुं प्रयत्नः करणीयः – The primary means of getting accustomed to and understanding the meaning of new words is through interaction. So students of the language should converse in Samskritam everyday to get hold of the language. The co-ordinator of the workshop Sri Mahesh Kakatkar also addressed the students and said पाठशालासंस्थापकानां प्रातःस्मरणीयजगद्गुरु श्रीश्रीसच्चिदानन्दशिवाभिनवनृसिंहभारतीमहास्वामिनां करुणया दूरदर्शित्वेन च सनातनविद्यासंरक्षणकार्यम् अनुस्यूततया इदानीमपि प्रचलति – It is by the sheer grace and foresight of the founder of this Pathashala (established in 1895), Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Nrisimha Bharati Mahaswamiji, the 33rd Jagadguru of Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham that the system of Vedic education is continuing without any interruption here. • The Self (Atma) is never born nor does It ever die; neither does It cease to exist after having once existed nor does the Self come into existence, like the body, having not existed before. Unborn, eternal, It undergoes no change whatsoever and is primeval; It is not destroyed when the body is destroyed. Bhagavan Sri Krishna on Significance of God
  • A person who hears about the condemnation of another incurs sin. What need be said about the sin incurred by a man who actually engages in nit picking? Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada on Prabodha Sudhakara
  • If you pray with faith and devotion, the Lord will certainly listen to your earnest prayers. Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • Our nation and its culture have a hoary past and we should all be proud of it. Mere aping of the West is not beneficial for us. For example, care of aged parents is something that has come down to us traditionally and we must never neglect this duty by imbibing concepts of some free societies, wherein concern for one’s own parents is at low ebb. Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • It is a great blunder not to make proper use of the body and mind that has been given to us by God. Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God's Names
