Kirtanakar Sammelan

The annual Kirtankar Sammelan organized by the Peetham was held in Sringeri from December 12th to December 14th 2014. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji was devotedly welcomed by the Kirtankars led by Vedabrahmsri Vivek Shastri Godbole, the convenor of the Sammelan. The Sammelan began with Veda Ghosha followed by lighting of the lamp by the Jagadguru. Hundreds of Kirtankars participated in the Sammelan and thrilled the audience. A function was organised to honour elderly Kirtankars in the Jagadguru’s divine presence. Administrator & CEO Sri V R Gowrishankar stated that it was the Jagadguru’s Sankalpa that the medium of Kirtans has been adopted by the Peetham to reach the message of Sanatana Dharma to common man.
The Jagadguru blessed one and all with an elaborate Anugraha Bhashanam on the greatness of devotion to the Lord and appreciated the Kirtanakars who are spreading this Bhakti. During the Sammelan, the Kirtanakars sang Abhangs in the night Chandramoulishwara Puja performed by the Jagadguru.
