Jagadguru performs Kumbhabhisheka of Sri Venkateshwara temple in Narasimhapura in Sringeri
On February 9th, 2015 morning Mahasannidhanam, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji and Sannidhanam Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji reached Narasimhapura and performed Kumbhabhisheka in the Lord Venkateshwara temple, that belongs to the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri.
During the reign of the 35th Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji the temples for Lord Lakshmi Narasimha and Lord Venkateshwara were re-consecrated. An ardent devotee, Sri Govinda Rao had made a major contribution for the construction of the temple of Sri Venkateshwara Swami.
In recent times, the temple structure warranted repairs that were carried out diligently under the instruction of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji. Repairs to the temple included those of the roof and the outer hall.
February 9th, being a Somavara, an auspicious day for Lord Ishwara, Mahasannidhanam and Sannidhanam reached the temple premises at 9:20 AM. Mahasannidhanam then performed an elaborate Puja to Lord Venkateshwara accompanied by the chanting of Veda mantras by the Pundits of Sringeri Math. After the Puja and Prana-Pratishtha was done by Mahasannidhanam, Sannidhanam climbed up and reached atop the Vimana to perform Kalashabhisheka. After performing Abhisheka, Archana and Mangalarti to the Kalasha, Sri Sri Sannidhanam prayed to Lord Kumbheshwara to reside in the Kalasha for all time and bless the devotees.
The Poorvanga activities of the Kumbhasbhisheka began yesterday. The devotees assembled in Narasimhapura felt blessed to watch such a Kumbhabhisheka taking place in the serene environment in the divine presence of Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam.
Later Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam gave Darshan to the assembled devotees. Dr. A G Ramesh, son of Sri Govinda Rao was honoured after the Kumbhabhisheka ceremonies.
