Punah Prathishta Kumbhabhisheka of Rajagopalaswamy temple

On 22nd May 2015, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam performed the Punah Pratishtha Kumbhabhisheka at Sri Rajagopalaswamy temple in Sringeri. The four-century old temple of the Peetham is located near the base of the Malahanikareshwara temple.
In His Anugraha Bhashanam, Sri Mahasannidhanam extolled the Lord in His Avatara as Sri Krishna. Sri Krishna Paramatma not only protected the good and annihilated the evil but also blessed all mankind forever by imparting the Bhagavad Gita. Truly, it is Lord Sri Krishna who has been first addressed as “Jagadguru”, stated Sri Mahasannidhanam. It is our bounden duty to revere and worship the Lord as Sri Krishna. Accordingly, we find thousands of temples dedicated to Lord Sri Krishna. It is most fitting that the temple of Sri Rajagopalaswamy has bedecked Sringeri for the past 400 years. Sri Mahasannidhanam expressed happiness at having conducted the Jeernodharana Kumbhabhishekha of the temple, which is administered by the Peetham.
