Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam and Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam started from Sringeri on a 3-day camp on the afternoon of February 28, 2017. They graced the town of Tirthahalli in the evening, February 28, 2017 to perform the Kumbhabhisheka of Goddess Marikamba in the relocated and newly constructed temple. In the public function, Sri Sannidhanam explained the importance of Bhagavad Bhakti in His Anugraha Bhashanam. Sri Mahasannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam pointed out the role of temples in our tradition for channelizing our lives along the path of Dharma. When in the midst of great difficulty, if we pray to God with Shraddha, the Lord will enlighten our minds and show us the way to resolve the difficulty.

The following day (on March 1, 2017), Sri Mahasannidhanam worshipped Goddess Marikamba and performed the Brahma Kumbhabhisheka. Sri Sannidhanam performed the Shikhara Kumbhabhisheka.

In the evening, the Ubhaya Jagadgurus arrived in Hosudi near Shimoga. In the public function, Sri Mahasannidhanam expressed joy that a Shikhara had been constructed at the 175 year old temple and the Kumbhabhisheka was to take place the next day. Sri Mahasannidhanam said that we cannot do anything without invoking the Grace of the Lord. Even Daksha Prajapati could not complete the Yaga that he tried to conduct ignoring the Lord. Sri Mahasannidhanam also conveyed the importance of chanting the Lord’s Divine Names. Sri Sannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam explained that sincere prayers to the Lord fetches what is needed for us.

The following day (March 2, 2017), Sri Mahasannidhanam performed the Brahma Kumbhabhisheka of Sri Chandramoulishwara. Devotees deemed it a great blessing that Sri Mahasannidhanam, who worships the Chandramoulishwara Sphatika Linga every day, performed the Kumbhabhisheka of Sri Chandramoulishwara at Hosudi.

Sri Sannidhanam the same morning travelled to Shimoga and performed the Prathishta Kumbhabhisheka of Sri Shakti Ganapati, Sri Padmavati and Sri Durga-Lakshmi in the premises of Sri Sharada Industrialist Association. Sri Sannidhanam then returned to Hosudi and had Darshan of Sri Chandramoulishwara.

In the evening, the Ubhaya Jagadgurus started from Hosudi and arrived at Tarikere, and had Darshan at the Subrahmanya Swamy temple. Sri Mahasannidhanam then inaugurated the Annapoorna Sabha Bhavana. Thereafter, the Jagadgurus graced the public function organized to welcome the Jagadgurus and rendered Anugraha Bhashanams to bless the devotees. Sri Sannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam explained how the Shastras enunciate the nature of God as the Impartial Dispenser of the fruits of our Karma, and  the need to engage in noble acts. Sri Mahasannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam said the Vedas are our supreme guide. One Vedic Mantra श्रद्धा सत्यं धर्मश्चैतानि मा मा हासिषुः – “May Shraddha, Satya and Dharma never leave me.” Shraddha (faith in the words of the Shastras and the Guru) is associated with the mind, Satya (Truth) is associated with speech while Dharma is associated with the performance of good deeds with the body. This calls for Trikarana Shuddhi or the purification of all the three instruments through which we engage in Karma – the mind, the tongue and the body (शरीरवाङ्मनोभिर्यत्कर्म प्रारभते नरः). Sri Mahasannidhanam also stated that proper adherence to truth or Satya will eventually lead one to the Knowledge of the Self – सत्येन लभ्यस्तपसा एष आत्मा.

The following day (March 3, 2017), the Jagadgurus had Darshan at the Sringeri Shankara Math at Tarikere,  and then after granting Darshan to the devotees, Jagadgurus returned to Sringeri.

  • Just as in this body, the embodied one passes through boyhood, youth, and old age, so does one pass into another body. With reference to this (birth, aging and death), the wise man is not disturbed. Bhagavan Sri Krishna on Significance of God
  • An object continues to be dear as long as one derives pleasure from it and it is detested for the duration that it causes pain. The same object cannot be always liked or disliked. Sometimes, that which is not dear may become dear. Moreover, that which was loveable can turn unpleasant. The Atma, towards which affection never wanes, is always the most beloved. Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada on Shatashloki
  • Blessings are the monopoly of God and we must all pray for his gracious blessings. Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • It is pitiful that when many of us are asked, “who are you?”, The first thought that arises is “I am a Keralite”, or “I am a Punjabi”, etc. The thought that should immediately stem is “I am an Indian”. If people first feel that they are Indians and only then think of divisions, the nation will have great prosperity and the divisive forces will not be operative as they are today. Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • Instead of using the tongue for speaking futile issues, use it to chant the names of God. God shall then guide you along the right and beneficial path. Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God's Names
