Birth Centenary Celebrations of Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji


 

Ashwayuja Krishna Chaturdashi (Naraka Chaturdashi – Deepavali) of the current Hemalamba Samvatsara i.e. October 18, 2017 marks the birth centenary of Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji, the 35th Acharya of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham.

The day will be marked by a special Puja performed by Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam at the Adhishthanam shrine of His Guru in Narasimha Vanam at Sringeri.

Akhanda Parayanam of the Ashtottara Shatanamavali of Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji will take place on the previous day (October 17).

A grand Smarana Saptaham has been organised in Sringeri by Sri Vidyatirtha Foundation, Chennai from October 11 onwards. Distinguished speakers will speak on different facets of the Jagadguru during the week long event. Sangeeta Samarpanam, Natya Samarpanam and Nataka Samarpanam will also take place. A photo exhibition titled “Pictures of Perfection” and chronicling the life of the Acharya will be put up during the Saptaham at Sringeri. As part of the Jayanti Celebrations, many devotee groups in the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala are conducting special programs to revere the Acharya.

A 3D Holographic presentation on the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji has been commissioned in July in Sringeri and devotees visiting Sringeri can watch the presentation at the Pravachana Mandiram during the days leading upto the Jayanti.
