Narasimha Jayanti

On May 17 2019, Narasimha Jayanti was celebrated at Sringeri.

At noon, Sri Mahasannidhanam offered a special Puja at Guru Nivas to the golden Vigraha of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha. Vedic Chants comprising the Purusha Sukta, the Narayana Sukta and Vishnu Sukta filled the air as the Jagadguru performed Abhisheka to Lord Narasimha, the Avatara signifying the omnipresence of the Lord. Sri Sannidhanam witnessed the Mahamangalarati and was present as Sri Mahasannidhanam performed the Parayana of Srimad Bhagavatam depicting the Avatara of Lord Narasimha.

Earlier in the day, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam had Darshan and witnessed the Mahamangalarati to Lord Narasimha on the external southern wall of the Sri Vidyashankara temple.

Special worship was also offered at the Lord Lakshmi Narasimha temple located in the Narasimhapura Agrahara in Sringeri. In the evening, Sri Sannidhanam arrived at the temple for Darshan, during which time, Mahamangalaratri, Ashtavadhana Seva and chanting of the Lakshmi Narasimha Pancharatnam (composed by Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya) took place.
