Dakshinayana Punya Kala Puja


Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam and Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam observed the Dakshinayana Punyakala at Sringeri on July 16, 2020.

Dakshinayana (lit. Southern path) is the part of the year is marked by the transition of sun from the Rashi (zodiac) of Mithuna (Gemini) into Karkataka (Cancer). This period of the year comprising six solar months lasts until the sun’s transition into Makara (Capricorn).

Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam performed an elaborate Ganga Puja during the Dakshinayana Punya Kala on the southern banks of the Tunga River.
