Kumbhabhisheka of Sri Bindu Madhava temple

With the blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam, Jagadguru Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam performed the Jeernoddhara Kumbhabhisheka of Sri Bindu Madhava shrine on December 19, 2022 (Margashira Krishna Ekadashi of the Shubhakrit Samvatsara). The shrine located adjacent and to the north east of Sri Malahanikareshwara temple.

The Puranas state that Maharshi Agni Bindu prayed to Bhagavan Sri Vishnu to reside in Varanasi, the sacred abode of Lord Vishwanatha. Acceding to the prayers of the Maharshi, Bhagavan resides in Varanasi as Bindu Madhava. The Bindu Madhava temple is located near the Panchaganga Ghat in Varanasi.

The Bindu Madhava temple in Sringeri was consecrated centuries ago near the Malahanikareshwara temple. The beautiful Vigraha of Bhagavan Bindu Madhava is flanked by Sri Sridevi and Sri Bhudevi and also has Sri Garuda, Sri Anjaneya and Maharshi Agni Bindu.
