Ratha Saptami Special Puja


Maha-Mangala-Aratrika performed on the occasion of Ratha Saptami

Ratha Saptami was celebrated today on February 16, 2024. The Ubhaya Jagadgurus graced the Purnahuti ceremony of the Surya Homa which was performed in the morning at the Sri Narasimha Bharati Yagashala opposite the temple of Sri Sharadamba. Following the homa, a special puja was performed to Lord Sri Surya-Narayana seated in a Sandalwood Ratha.

In the afternoon, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam performed special puja to Lord Sri Suryanarayana at the temple in Elmagge. Phala-Panchamruta Abhisheka was performed to the sonorous chanting of Vedic mantras by the Pandits of the Math. Following the abhisheka the Maha-Saura-Sukta of the Rigveda was also recited. The puja concluded with the Maha-Mangala-Aratrika late in the noon.
