The Hon. Finance Minister of the Government of India, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, embarked on a significant visit to Sringeri on May 24 and 25. During her Sringeri visit, she had Darshan of Sri Sharadamba and the Sringeri Jagadgurus.

Traditional Welcome and Pujas at Sringeri

Arriving on the evening of May 24, the Hon. Finance Minister was offered a traditional welcome at the Rajagopuram by Sringeri Math CEO ‘Guru Seva Nirata’ Sri PA Murali and other Math officials. She attended the Chandramoulishwara Puja and Srichakra Puja performed by Sri Mahasannidhanam.

Highlights of Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman’s Sringeri Visit

On May 25, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman had Darshan of Sringeri Jagadgurus, Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam, and received blessings. She also had Darshan at Sri Malahanikareshwara temple, Durgamba temple, and visited the Shankara-giri premises housing the 32-foot statue of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya. Additional Solicitor General of India, ‘Guru Bhakta Mani’ Sri N Venkataraman accompanied the Hon. Finance Minister on her Sringeri visit.

During her visit to Sringeri, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman took part in various traditional rituals and ceremonies, including Darshan of Sri Sharadamba and the Sringeri Jagadgurus. The Finance Minister’s Sringeri visit underscored the importance of preserving India’s cultural heritage and promoting spiritual tourism in the region.
