Important Announcement pertaining to
Sringeri Math participation in Pran-Pratishtha at Ayodhya

January 18, 2024

As per the directive of Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peethadheeshwara His Holiness Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, the CEO and Administrator of Sringeri Math, Sri VR Gowrishankar will represent the Peetham in the Prana-pratishtha event on January 22, 2024 at sacred Ayodhya.

The Sringeri Math reiterates the appeal made in the earlier announcement dated January 8, 2024 to only note information made available through our official website and social media platforms.

Republic World has published an article dated January 18, 2024 titled “Sringeri Math Shankaracharya to Attend Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha”. The  wrong information conveyed in the article must be immediately rectified.

This article has wrongly referred to the Kudali Math as the Sringeri Math, used a photograph of the Sringeri Shankaracharya of Sringeri Math and is misleading the public that the Shankaracharya of Sringeri Math will be attending the Ayodhya event.

It has to be noted that the Kudali Math located near Shivamogga is neither the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham nor is it referred to as Sringeri Math. It is rather only an independently-functioning branch Math of the Sringeri Math.

The media is requested to avoid such lapses and not mislead the public.

As instructed by the Shankaracharya of Sringeri Math, all Astikas are requested to perform Japa of Rama Taraka Mantra and chant the Rama Bhujanga Stotra composed by Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya and be a recipient of Bhagavan Sri Ramachandra’s grace on this sacred occasion.
