Vijaya Yatra 2012-2013 of the Jagadguru January 3, 2015

The Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji undertook a year long Vijaya Yatra of South India, to instill faith and devotion and to bless one and all. In the course of His Vijaya Yatra, the Mahaswamiji visited many important places of pilgrimage, as well as many cities, towns and villages and performed many Kumbhabhishekam or consecration of new shrines aswell as re-consecration of shrines and temples which were renovated.

A documentary was produced by the “Shankara Advaita Research Centre” showcasing important moments and giving the viewer a bird’s eye view of the year long Yatra of the Jagadguru in under one hundred minutes. On the occasion of Guru Purnima, we are pleased to present this video.

Clarification of dates of Silver Jubilee celebrations December 21, 2014

There was a typographical error in the website update of dates of the silver jubilee celebrations of the Peetharohana of the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji.

This is to clarify that the silver jubilee celebrations will be held on the 3rd and 4th of January 2015.

The Poornahuti took place in the divine presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji.

The annual Kirtankar Sammelan organized by the Peetham was held in Sringeri from December 12th to December 14th 2014. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji was devotedly welcomed by the Kirtankars led by Vedabrahmsri Vivek Shastri Godbole, the convenor of the Sammelan.

Kalabhairava Ashtami December 14, 2014

Kalabhairava Ashtami was celebrated reverentially on December 14th 2014. At noon, the Jagadguru performed a special Puja at the shrine of Lord Kalabhairava in the hillock in Narasimha Vanam. In the evening, Deepotsava was held in the Jagadguru’s presence. The deity was decorated beautifully with butter for the occasion. Ashtavadhana Seva was offered and everyone chanted Sri Kalabhairava Ashtakam composed by the 33rd Acharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji.

Shatachandi Homa and Puja to Sri Kalikamba December 11, 2014

On 11th December 2014, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji worshipped Goddess Kalikamba, the guardian deity installed in the northern direction of Sringeri by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. The following day, the Jagadguru graced the Poornahuti of the Shatachandi Yaga that was performed in the temple on the occasion.
