Grand Kumbhabhisheka of Rajagopuram at Sringeri today June 8, 2014

The grand Kumbhabhisheka of the Rajagopuram at the entrance of the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri will take place today. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji will perform the Shikhara Kumbhabhisheka after having first performed the Yantra Prathishta and Kumbhabhisheka at the new Sri Thorana Ganapati temple in Sringeri.

With the grand Kumbhabhishekam of the Rajagopuram at Sringeri around the corner, Sringeri town has been witnessing a steady stream of devotees from all parts of India gathering to witness this historic event. Starting from June 2 2014, Goddess Sharadamba has been decorated in different Alankaras similar to those during the Sharan-Navaratri festival. The morning saw the commencement of the Sahasrachandika Mahayaga being conducted as part of the the Sringeri Rajagopuram Kumbhabhisheka celebrations for the welfare of the mankind.

With the grand Rajagopuram Kumbhabhisheka just two full days away, devotees have begun thronging the Sringeri Kshetram. With guidance from the staff of the Math, volunteers from Sringeri and surrounding villages have made a number of arrangements for providing local hospitality to the flood of devotees pouring in.

The heavens greeted the dawn of the third day of the Rajagopuram Kumbhabhisheka Celebrations at Sringeri began with a heavy downpour. As part of the 3rd day Celebrations of the Rajagopuram Kumbhabhishekam, the cultural programme featured a Violin and Veena concert by the couple Sri R Kumaresh and Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh.
