Sharan Navaratri Celebrations at Sringeri October 18, 2013

The Sharada Sharan Navaratri Celebrations at Sringeri commenced on the Mahalaya Amavasya day falling the 4th of October 2013. Mahabhisheka was performed to Goddess Sharada amidst chants of Saraswati Sukta, Devi Sukta, and Ratri Sukta from the Rig Veda and Saraswati Sukta, Medha Sukta, Sri Sukta and Durga Sukta from the Yajur Veda. After the Mahabhisheka, Goddess Sharadamba gave Darshan as Jagat Prasutika signifying her role as the Divine Mother of the Universe.

Mahaganapati Vakyartha Vidwat Sabha September 20, 2013

Conducted under the august chairmanship of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji in Sri Sacchidananda Vilas, Narasimha Vanam, the Mahaganapati Vakyartha Vidwat Sabha proceedings consisted of deliberations in four Shastras namely Vedanta, Mimamsa, Nyaya and Vyakarana. About 50 renowned Shastric scholars across the country participated in the Sabha and deliberated in Sanskrit for 12 days from Vinayaka Chaturthi day (Sep 9th).

Jagadguru completes 39th Chaturmasya September 19, 2013

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji completed His 39th Chaturmasya on 19th September 2013 at Sringeri. During the Chaturmasya period, the Jagadguru performed a number of Pujas and observed a number of Vratas. These included the elaborate Shravana Somavara Pujas, the Varamahalakshmi Vrata, and the Krishna Janmashtami Puja in August. Swarna Gowri Vrata was observed in the Math premises at Pravachana Mandiram on 8th September. Many Suvasinis came to the Math from in and around Sringeri and offered worship.
