Day 5 of Kumbhabhisheka Celebrations


 

With the grand Rajagopuram Kumbhabhisheka just two full days away, devotees have begun thronging the Sringeri Kshetram. With guidance from the staff of the Math, volunteers from Sringeri and surrounding villages have made a number of arrangements for providing local hospitality to the flood of devotees pouring in.

Kotikumkumarchana at the temple of Sri Sharadamba

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji came to Sri Sharadamba Sannidhi by 9:10 am. After having the Darshan of Goddess Sharadamba, the Jagadguru remained in the temple till the completion of ongoing Lalita Sahasranama Parayana as part of the Koti Kumkumarchana. Having completed chanting a total of 30 lakh Naamas on the first three days of Kumkuma Archana, the Ritwiks continued the Archana for the fourth day today with utmost sincerity and devotion. The Jagadguru once again came to Sri Sharadamba Sannidhi in the evening, after blessing the musicians and listening to the the song Sri Nathadi Guruguho Jayati Jayati. Everyone present noted the joy in the countenance of the Jagadguru as the chanting of the Namas, that not only praise the Goddess but also are filled with the nectar of the Advaita, reverberated inside the temple.

Ceremonies pre-cursor to the Rajagopuram Kumbhabhisheka

From Sharadamba Sannidhi, the Jagadguru  graced the Paramparika Bhavanam. The Ritwiks submitted to the Jagadguru, the proceedings of the ceremonies related to the Rajagopuram Kumbhabhisheka. As on date, the Sarvatobhadra Mandala Puja, Kalasha sthapanam and Navagraha Homa have been completed.  Then the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji blessed the Ritwiks conducting the Kumbhabhisheka ceremonies, as well as the Vidwans involved in the Chatur Veda Parayanam and Vaidika Suryanamaskaram.

Atirudra Mahayaga

From the Paramparika Bhavanam, the Jagadguru visited the Atirudra Yagashala in front of Sri Vidyashankara temple and listened to the Rudra chanting of the Ritwiks of the Mahayaga. The Parayanam started at 7 am in the morning and went on till noon. The Rudra Kramarchana started by 4:30 pm and ended with Ashtavadhana Seva & Mahamangalarati by 6:30 pm.

Cultural Programme.

As part of the 5th day Celebrations of the Rajagopuram Kumbhabhisheka, the cultural programme featured a Vocal recital by renowned musician Vidwan Sri Vijay Shiva, a singer very devoted to Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya and Sringeri Guruparampara. Before the begining of the concert he was awarded with the prestigious title of Asthana Vidwan of Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham in the august presence of the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji by the CEO & The Administrator Dr. V.R.Gowrishankar. The Jagadguru graciously blessed the Vidwan, who was present in traditional attire and the accompanying artists. Listening to the Sangeeta seva of Vidwan Sri Vijaya Shiva to Sri Sharadamba and Sri Jagadguru, the devotees were thrilled with the purity in his music. He started the concert with a Shloka “Sada bala roopapi” first shloka of the Subrahmanya Bhujana written by Jagadguru Sri Adishankara Bhagavatpadacharya in Mayamalavagowla, followed by Sri Nathadi Guruguho Jayati Jayati, then Sri Shankaracharyam Bhajare Manasa, a composition by Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji followed by a elaborate Poorvikalyani Meenakshi Me Mudam Dehi. It was a real feast for the carnatic music lovers today from this very experienced musician.
