Why do we build temples ?

During the 2012-13 Vijaya Yatra, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji arrived at Shamshabad on November 20, 2012.

On November 23, 2012, the Jagadguru performed the Prathishta Kumbhabhisheka of Sri Chandramoulishwara, Goddess Sharada, Mahaganapati, Adi Shankara, Subrahmanya, Gopala Krishna and Navagrahas. The Jagadguru then performed the Shikhara Kalashabhishekas atop the Vimanas of Sri Chandramoulishwara and Goddess Sharadamba.

During the evening function to commemorate this event, the Jagadguru gave a Anugraha Bhashanam that touched upon the following aspects of Sanatana Dharma —

Existence of God is the fundamental tenet of Sanatana Dharma
Do not see difference in the forms of the Lord
Worship God with steadfast and focused devotion
Worship God with complete faith
Why do we construct temples?
