The 33rd Jagadguru of Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham, Sri Sachidananda Shivabhinava Nrasimha Bharathiji has constructed a shrine for the founder of the Amneya Peetham, Sri Adi Shankara Bhagawatpada inside the Shardambal Temple complex. The murti is represented as seated in yogasana with chin mudra on the right hand and abhayamudra on the left. The pedestal of the image has four disciples and there is a shiva linga in the front. Sri Abhinava Vidya Thirtha Swamiji 35th Acharaya, had constructed an attractive vimanam with a stupi constructed over the grabhagriha.

Old structure of Sri Adi Shankaracharya

Recently this idol has been shifted and placed inside Sri Sharada temple. As in the same place where the earlier shrine existed a new structure is being built.
