How to receive updates via SMS ?

Updates to the official website of Sringeri Sharada Peetham (www.sringeri.net) can be obtained through SMS aswell as other channels like E-Mail, RSS Feeds etc. SMS Updates is supported in India as of now in the following Networks —

• Bharti Airtel
• Reliance
• Videocon
• TATA DOCOMO⁺

⁺Following the merger of TATA-Indicom and TATA DOCOMO, TATA Indicom network may also be supported for receiving updates. Subscription is done with the same number as TATA DOCOMO.

Step by step process

Step 1. Type a (SMS) text message containing follow sringerimath
Step 2. Send the message to 53000 Note : This number is valid only for subscribers of Bharti Airtel, Reliance, TATA DOCOMO and Videocon. For international operators, please check note below.

Step 3. You should shortly receive an automated confirmation message.

From now on you will receive SMS Messages informing you about updates to the official Sringeri Math website (www.sringeri.net)

To Unsubscribe from automated updates, send STOP to 53000 twice consecutively and updates will cease to be sent. To subscribe to again, repeat from Step 1.

International Mobile Operators –

• (Continental) United States of America
  Supported Networks – AT&T, Verizon, C Spire, US Cellular, MetroPCS. Send the same message to 40404 instead of 53000

• United Kingdom
  Supported Networks – Orange, Vodafone, O2, 3, Sure (CWC). Send the same message to 86444 instead of 53000

• Malaysia
  Supported Networks – Maxis, Tune Talk, DiGi. Send the same message to 28933 instead of 53000

Miscallany

• Updates from Sringeri Sharada Peetham does not require any hi-tech gadget. Any ordinary mobile phone capable of sending and receiving SMS messages, with an active connection from one of the network operators mentioned above will suffice. Hi-tech smartphones are also supported.
• We do not like SPAM and do not send unsolicited messages. Subscription and unsubscription is purely user initiated and we have little or no control over subscriptions as the entire process is fully automated.
• Currently only news and updates from Sringeri Math and its branches are sent via SMS.

Operator Charges

Sringeri Sharada Peetham does not charge anything for SMS updates. However depending upon the network operator and other factors like location, roaming, subscription plan etc. operator charges may apply for sending and/or receiving SMS. Please check with operator to ascertain charges if any.
