Sri Rama Navami Celebrated April 15, 2016

Sri Rama Navami was celebrated at Sringeri on April 15 2016. The day’s proceedings commenced with the Ubhaya Jagadgurus crossing over to the northern banks of the Tunga for Aalaya Darshan, including the Mangala Arati at the Sri Kothandarama Swami temple. Their Holinesses then granted Darshan to all devotees at the Guru Nivas at Narasimha Vanam. Darshan was followed by an elaborate Puja at noon to Sri Sita Lakshmana Hanumat Sameta Sri Ramachandra Swami by Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam. At the end of the Puja, the Sri Rama Janana Sarga from the Bala Kanda of Valmiki Ramayanam was read out by Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam. Sri Sri Sannidhanam was also present during the Mahamangalarati of the Puja. Through the duration of Vasanta Navaratri, Valmiki Ramayana Parayana was performed at the Sri Kodandarama Swami temple and Carnatic music concerts were held.

66th Vardhanti Mahotsava of Sri Mahasannidhanam April 14, 2016

The 66th Vardhanti of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam was celebrated at Sringeri in a glorious manner. The Mahotsava included special Pujas and Yagas performed for the welfare of humanity, cultural offering by eminent musicians and a reverential Guru Vandana by devotees in honour of Sri Mahasannidhanam.

Telugu Upanyasa Mala by Samavedam Shanmukha Sharma April 1, 2016

A Telugu Upanyasa Mala by eminent Upanyasaka, Brahmasri Samavedam Shanmukha Sharma, was organized by devotees of the Peetham at Sringeri from 28th March to 1st April 2016. Sri Shankmukha Sharma gave Upanyasas on Shiva-Parvati Kalyanam based on the Puranas and the descriptions of the event by Telugu poets of yore. Hundreds of devotees attended the event that took place at the Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Sabha Bhavanam opposite the temple of Goddess Sharadamba.

Jagadgurus at Narasimharajapura and Aduvalli March 25, 2016

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam and Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam started from Sringeri on the afternoon of March 24 2016 and arrived at Narasimharajapura (NR Pura). A festive atmosphere prevailed as thousands of devotees welcomed the Jagadgurus and organised a procession through the arterial roads of the town. A grand public function was organised by the authorities of the temple of Goddess Mareekamba. Many dignitaries inclusive of Sringeri MLA Jeevaraj, MLC M. Shrinivas also participated in the function to welcome the Jagadgurus. After Dhuli Pada Puja and formal welcomes to the Jagadgurus, devotees were blessed with Anugraha Bhashanams by the Ubhaya Jagadgurus.
