The Swamiji of the Puttige Math at Udupi, Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji visited Sringeri on 4th December 2010 and had Darshan of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji at Guru Nivas. Ksheerabdhi Dwadashi November 18, 2010

The twelfth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Kartika is well known as Ksheerabdi Dwadashi. This year, On 18th November 2010, Ksheerabdhi Dwadashi was celebrated with the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji performing a special Puja to Lord Lakshminarasimha in Narasimhapura Agraha in Sringeri. Dhatri Homa and Tulasi Kalyanam were also performed at the temple earlier. The same evening, Deepotsava was celebrated at the shrine of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami as well as the shrine of Tulasi facing the temple of Sri Janardana Swami near Sri Vidyashankara Temple.

The magnificent 14th century temple dedicated to Lord Vidyashankara temple is built over the Samadhi location of the 10th Acharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Vidyatirtha. Sri Vidyashankara Rathotsava was celebrated on a grand scale during Kartika Shukla paksha. The Aradhana and Rathotsava festival spanned seven days from Karthika Shukla Tritiya to Navami.
